Three things you can do to deal with any situation

I love this, I read it in James L Wilson's book on Adrenal Fatigue and I find it really useful to deal with every day difficult situations.  Pain and suffering occur when you resist the present moment.

In life there are three things you can do when you are in a difficult situation and they are:

  1. You can change the situation
  2. You can change yourself to fit (adapt to) the situation
  3. You can leave the situation
To illustrate it lets imagine a difficult situation where your son is playing horrible loud music in the same room as you. 

  1. You can change the situation by asking him to go into a different room or unplugging the sound system!
  2. You can change yourself to fit the situation by wearing earplugs!
  3. You can leave the situation by leaving the room.
